End Product

At the beginning of the semester, our end goal was to get more people involved in 'Can We Just Talk?'. We planned events, spread information by word of mouth, did giveaways, etc. All of this worked out for us as we saw an increase in returning attendees as well as new attendees. We were very pleased and excited to see the growth, even if it wasn't as extreme as we had initially hoped it would be.

Survey Data and Results

We created a survey to conduct at the end of each night to collect data that involved the attendee's thoughts and feelings about the topic from that night. We were very pleased with the results. This shows the statistics for the question, 'How Would You Rate Your Experience Tonight?' The scale included answers such as poor, fair, average, good, and excellent.

5.3%

Fair

31.6%

Good

63.2%

Excellent

We also saw that 31.6% of attendees were somewhat likely to come again while 68.4% of attendees were very likely to attend again.

Growth as Leaders and Teammates

Throughout this project, I developed as a leader through growing my communication, service leadership, and delegation skills. Our team grew a lot throughout the semester by appreciating everyone’s opinions and bouncing ideas off each other.

As someone who began this journey into the world of Leadership a bit hesitant and unsure of what it really meant to learn about leadership, I valued this experience so much. I was able to practice my style of leadership as well as watch my peers grow in theirs. Overall, I was happy to see all of our hard work pay off at the end of the semester.

CWJT Service Leadership project has developed a great leader within myself. I personally grew in terms of communication and working in teams. Determination among the team is what connected our team. Lastly, I believe we are all leaders, we just need to find that leader within ourselves.

Thanks to this experience I have grown as an individual and a team player in so many aspects. I constantly applied adaptive leadership by raising and lowing the heat of difficult situations through out the semester. I consider myself a courageous follower since I take pride in standing up for what is right no matter the situation.

Meaningful and Productive Team Operations

  • Our team practiced creative thinking by having brainstorming sessions for marketing Can We Just Talk well.

  • In addition, our team was also adaptive in our leadership when different obstacles arose throughout the project.

  • We resolved conflict by talking through any current or potential issues during our mid-semester feedback.

  • Our team practiced followership as we considered the goals of our community leader when we planned events and made decisions.
